Claims & Delay Analysis
Recovery Schedule
A recovery schedule is a revised schedule that shows how a contractor plans to regain time lost to delay and finish by a required date.
Definition
A recovery schedule typically shortens durations, overlaps activities, adds resources or changes logic to pull the forecast finish back toward the contract date. Contracts often require one when the project is behind, and its content can matter later in a dispute: it records what the contractor intended and whether the changes made it a genuine recovery or an acceleration. Because it changes logic and durations, comparing it to the update before it is the way to see exactly what was altered to achieve the recovery.
Example
After a 25-day slip the contractor issues a recovery schedule that overlaps interior finishes with the tail of MEP rough-in and adds a second crew, restoring the original completion date on paper.
