Progress Override

Progress Override is a Primavera P6 scheduling option under which the remaining work of an out-of-sequence activity ignores its unfinished predecessors and continues from the data date.

Definition

With Progress Override, the logic tie to an incomplete predecessor is disregarded once the successor has actually started, so the remaining duration is scheduled from the data date without waiting. This generally produces earlier forecast dates than Retained Logic for the same progress data, and it can hide the fact that work was performed out of sequence. Because the option changes how the network recalculates, a schedule's setting matters when its dates are reproduced or compared.

Example

The same out-of-sequence rough-in is forecast to continue immediately from the data date under Progress Override, even though wall framing is still unfinished.
