DCMA-14 · Check 8 of 14

High duration

Incomplete tasks with an original duration over 44 days.

Threshold< 5% (over 44 days)

What it measures

How many unfinished tasks are long enough to be hard to status accurately.

How Claims Digger calculates it

Counts incomplete tasks whose original duration exceeds 44 days, converted using each activity's own calendar, divided by the incomplete tasks evaluated. The check passes below 5%.

Why it matters

A long activity is hard to status honestly and can hide schedule risk that would be visible if the work were broken into shorter pieces.

How to fix a failure

  • Break long activities into phases, areas or floors that can each be started and finished.
  • Where an activity is a genuine long-running item (a supply or a monitoring period), consider a level-of-effort activity instead.

Claims Digger runs all 14 checks on any schedule you upload, and lists the exact activities behind every failure. See how the health check works.
