Negative float
Any activity with total float below zero.
Threshold0
What it measures
Whether the current logic can reach the schedule's own required finish date at all.
How Claims Digger calculates it
Counts every activity (task or milestone, any status) whose total float is below zero. Any negative float is flagged; the check passes only at zero.
Why it matters
Negative float means the schedule, as built, misses a date it is supposed to meet. Either a constraint is forcing that date or the logic is telling you the project is late.
How to fix a failure
- Find the constraint or deadline producing the negative float and confirm it is a real requirement.
- If it is real, the schedule needs a recovery plan or an honest revision, not a suppressed number.
Claims Digger runs all 14 checks on any schedule you upload, and lists the exact activities behind every failure. See how the health check works.
